Zani to make V8 Ute Debut
Todd Zani will make his V8 Ute debut at the Auto One V8 Ute Series as part of the V8 Supercars event to be held at Barbagallo Raceway next weekend from the 4th to the 6th May.
Todd will be driving the Ezeatm Racing Team Ute at the event and a few people will be expecting him to perform well given that he successfully campaigned a HSV Maloo in tarmac rallies for six years in Australian and New Zealand. However, Todd said "I will be happy just to not finish last and appreciate the opportunity that the Williams Race Tech Team and James Brock have given me to debut at this event in my home town."
Tickets are available via ticketek and those that are sponsors of Todd will now be eagerly contacting him to score some tickets to the action for next weekend.
We wish Todd all the best.

Paul Davies and Kelly Newbon have won their class at the recently Targa High Country event, held in Mt Buller, Victoria last weekend. Paul and Kelly missed the event in 2010 but were never going to miss the event this year and the Team is proud of their first up effort at the event.
The HDT VE VK Retro finished a very credible 25th in the Modern Competition and also finished first in class in the RWD, 2WD V8 category which was a great effort.
The weather during the event was extremely warm which proved far too big a challenge for a number of driver/navigator combinations and machinery. The Jason White Lamborghini proved so hot that it actually caught on fire in the very last stage but managed to finish the stage and win the event. A burning Lamborghini has proven very popular on YouTube.
Prior to the High Country Event, Paul also attended the premiere of the HDT VE VL Retro, the last new generation retro to be released by HDT. The VE VK Retro was used as a hot lap car and the day was a great success.

Both crews were happy with their positions overnight and merely had to consolidate their positions with a likely win in Class by both crews and a fantastic Showroom win by Davies/Newbon.
The action was in the Shire of Toodyay early in the morning but the afternoon was reserved for the action in the City of Perth Stage.

The crews awoke to another glorious Perth day and looking forward to roads of Toodyay and Bullsbrook. The Zani/Knapp combination in particular are looking forward to the Bullsbrook stages as a result of a few little timing issues in the prior year and after a horrible Friday were ready to go hunting.
Paul Davies and Kelly Newbon were also well positioned in class and looking for a bigger day and to hunt down the Rohan Green Mistubishi, the prior year winner in the Showroom category.
Both cars were running faultlessly and with the added confidence of the cars being in good shape both driver were punching out some impressive times and from stage to stage there was little difference between both crews.

Leg 1 saw the vehicles traverse through the Shires of Kalamunda, Mundaring and Perth with the first stage of action getting underway at the RAC race track before crews heading to John Forrest National Park, the infamous Zig Zag and then the Kalamunda/Mundaring Weir Road.
The weather in Perth was perfect and the remote chance of rain on the Sunday was now not forecast so again our inability to get R spec rubber for these HDT rims was probably going to hurt us.
